Aikikan Aikido Bond (AAB):
Aikikan Aikido Federation (AAB) was founded on May 2, 1990, initially as the "Aikido Association Twente," later renamed AAB.
AAB practices Aikikai Aikido as taught at Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan, and represents the interests of all affiliated Aikikan Aikido Dojo's. AAB includes dojos in Almelo, Apeldoorn, Deventer, Eindhoven, Enschede, Epe (D) and Hengelo, these are in the Netherlands and Germany. AAB has also 6 dojos Iran, and one dojo in Oman.
AAB received Hombu recognition on April 3, 2023, and is directly connected to Aikikai Hombu Dojo, the global headquarters of Aikikai.
The founder and chief instructor of Aikikan Dojos is Siavash Derakhshan Shihan (6th Dan Aikikai, Hombu Dojo, Tokyo).
Enbukan:
(Non-profit) Enbukan Aikido; the federation found it's start in the wish of Shishiya Shihan, to have a platform for the Nishio Aikido form (known as Yurusu Budo, the art of forgiveness). The federation is most cooperative with dojos in America, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Sweden. In 2017 the federation received its Hombu dojo recognition from Japan. The federation holds 7 dojos with one on the Philippines.
Classical Aikido Association the Netherlands:
Classical Aikido Association the Netherlands has been practicing and teaching O'Sensei's Aikido since 1989. Our group focuses on the powerful, static pre-war "Diamond techniques" and transitions to more fluid and free forms.
We emphasize the philosophical and spiritual aspects of Aikido, including kototama (sound meditation), chinkon-kishin meditation (calming the mind, returning to the source), misogi (self-purification) with Bokken and Jo techniques, and studying O'Sensei's writings, poems, diagrams, and calligraphy.
Our inspiration comes from all Aikidoka we train with and our connections to the founder is:
Rinjiro Shirata Sensei (10th Dan)
John Stevens Sensei (7th Dan).
